The event began with a warm welcome to our guests and audience, followed by a ceremonial lamp lighting symbolising the beginning of a new chapter for the organisation. Students from the Women Empowerment through Sign Language and Technology (WEST) initiative shared their empowering journeys, motivating everyone present. The Chief Guest Smt. Karuna Vakati, IAS and Mr. D. P. K. Babu, Founder and Director of Ashray Akruti shared their experiences and inspired the gathering.
One of the key highlights include the official launch of the DISLI course, recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India, starting with 25 students. This marks a significant step towards building an inclusive society. To support the new students, kits designed to aid them on their educational journey were distributed. Congratulations to the first batch of DISLI students as they embark on this empowering journey! The event concluded with a unique presentation of the National Anthem in Indian Sign Language.
This is a significant step in Ashray Akruti’s mission to create an inclusive society through education and extending our best wishes to the first batch of DISLI students. Ashray Akruti is excited for their future and believes this course will empower them to make a lasting impact in bridging the gap between hearing and non-hearing communities.
