The Ashray Akruti Institute of Speech and Hearing (AAISH) is an established institution, committed to advancing human resource development, research, and clinical care in the fields of audiology, speech-language pathology, and disability rehabilitation. AAISH is a specialized wing of Ashray Akruti, a renowned non-governmental organization established in 1996, and began its dedicated academic and clinical journey in 2015.

The Ashray Akruti Institute of Speech and Hearing (AAISH) is recognized by Rebalitation Council of India & affliated to Osmania University to offer Bachelor of Audiology and Speech -Language pathology course from the academic year 2025-2026

Clinical Excellence

AAISH is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and follows the latest evidence-based practices. The institute provides out-patient clinical services across a range of age groups—paediatric, adult, and geriatric—for:

· Hearing loss and balance disorders

· Speech and language delays

· Voice and fluency disorders

· Swallowing disorders

· Neurogenic communication impairments

Services are delivered by a team of qualified audiologists, speech-language pathologists, ENT specialists, clinical psychologists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists

About the Bachelor of Audiology and Speech -Language pathology course

The BASLP is a 4-year full-time undergraduate program (3 years + 1-year clinical internship) that prepares students to become professionals in the field of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. The course is designed as per the latest curriculum prescribed by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi.

Program Objectives

· To understand concepts of speech, language, hearing, and communication disorders.

· To assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders.

· To counsel clients and their families and offer rehabilitative services.

· To create awareness and advocate for inclusive communication in society.

Eligibility Criteria

As per Osmania University and RCI guidelines:

· 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 50% aggregate

· Must have studied at least three subjects from: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Psychology, Electronics

Admission Process (2025–26)

Application Starts: May 15, 2025

Deadline (without late fee): June 25, 2025

Late Submission (₹200 extra): June 30, 2025

Entrance Exam Date: July 20, 2025

Counselling: July 27, 2025

General/OBC/BC: ₹1500

SC/ST/PWD: ₹1100

Mode of Admission

Through OU-entrance exam. If applicants are fewer than seats, merit in qualifying exam will be considered.

Program Duration & Structure

Total Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters)

6 Academic Semesters + 2 Internship Semesters

Attendance Requirement: Theory: 80%; Clinicals: 90%
