Ahray Akruti outreach programmes supports and helps children and aged from slums and rural area to access ear and hearing care services. A major challenge in the area of hearing impairment is the lack of awareness about issues relating to ear and hearing loss. So, there is a great need to spread awareness among parents, teachers and the community regarding hearing as well as to implement screening programmes that will facilitate early identification.
Ashray Akruti’s Community outreach project is aimed to mitigate effects of hearing loss among a large group of very poor and lower middle class sections of society and also raise awareness about better ear and hearing care in the community. Conducting camps in Government schools, educating parents, school teachers and children on ear care, referring children to ENT hospitals are the Ear care health services Ashray Akruti extends as part of the outreach programmes.
